Why does the vial look empty?
That’s normal. The peptide is supplied lyophilised (freeze-dried) — often a thin film or a few milligrams at the base of the vial, easy to mistake for empty. It’s all there; reconstitute with bacteriostatic water before use.
Research handling note
Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water and store the lyophilised vial at −20 °C until use; once reconstituted, refrigerate and use within the documented window. For laboratory research purposes only — not for human consumption, diagnostic, or therapeutic use. Need to work out your dilution? Use the reconstitution calculator

PT-141 — research profile

For research purposes only — not for human consumption

PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a synthetic melanocortin-receptor agonist and an active metabolite of Melanotan 2. Unlike vascular-acting compounds, it is studied for centrally-mediated effects on sexual-response pathways via the MC4 receptor in the central nervous system.

Its mechanism is of research interest precisely because it acts on neural signalling rather than peripheral blood flow, and it has been evaluated in controlled clinical trials for hypoactive sexual desire.

How it’s studied

  • MC4R activation: central-nervous-system sexual-response signalling.
  • Central vs peripheral: CNS-mediated pathways distinct from vascular agents.
  • Melanocortin pharmacology: receptor-subtype selectivity studies.

Verifiability

Batch Testing & COA

Every production batch is sent for independent, third-party analysis at Janoshik Analytical. When results return, the full Certificate of Analysis for the exact batch you receive is published here and in our COA library, carrying its SHA-256 checksum and the lot number printed on your vial, so you can confirm the document is genuine and untampered. We publish every certificate, including any that fail.
