141 Peptide: PT-141 research and the RECONNECT trials
Sources checked: 22 October 2026.
141 Peptide is the PP catalogue name for the research material also known as PT-141 or bremelanotide. Searches for these names often lead to clinical-treatment pages. The useful starting point is the actual study: who participated, which outcomes were measured and which material was used.
What RECONNECT studied
Kingsberg and colleagues, 2019 reported two randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase-3 trials in premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder. The treatment period lasted 24 weeks. Across both studies, 1,267 women were randomised; 1,247 were included in the safety population and 1,202 in the modified intention-to-treat efficacy population. These are different analysis groups, not conflicting participant counts.
Read the outcome, not just the headline
| Measure | What to check |
|---|---|
| Desire score | A defined questionnaire domain, compared with baseline and placebo. |
| Distress score | Distress associated with low desire, measured separately. |
| Adverse events | Nausea, flushing and headache occurred more often with bremelanotide. |
| Applicability | The trial population does not represent every person searching for PT-141. |
How to interpret a statistically significant result
A questionnaire score is a specified outcome with its own scale. A change in that score should not be restated as a percentage improvement in overall sexual function. Statistical significance also does not tell a reader how large or personally meaningful a change is. Read the size of the difference, uncertainty, comparison group and tolerability together.
Clinical formulation and research material
The published trials studied a defined investigational formulation under a clinical protocol. They did not test the PP research vial. The shared substance name does not establish equivalent manufacture, formulation, stability or clinical suitability. A 10 mg vial label describes total declared material; it is not a treatment instruction or a concentration per millilitre.
Documentation available from PP
Our catalogue lists 141 Peptide as a 10 mg research vial. No independent report for this product is currently listed in our certificate registry. We therefore do not present a target purity as a measured result. An independent analysis, when available, must identify the sample and method and distinguish identity, purity and quantity. None of those measurements alone establishes clinical safety.
Questions this evidence does not answer
The paper cannot establish the effect of every commercially available product, every route of administration or use outside its study population. This guide is a focused reading of the cited trials, not a systematic review. PP materials are for laboratory research only and are not intended for human or veterinary use.
