0.5 mL barrel, U-100 graduations, 30 G × 8 mm needle
A U-100 insulin syringe is the standard tool for measuring small volumes of a reconstituted research peptide. The fine graduations are what make it useful here: one unit is 0.01 mL, so a working volume can be drawn to a precision an ordinary syringe cannot reach.
The barrel is marked in insulin units, not millilitres. U-100 means 100 units to the millilitre, so one unit is 0.01 mL and the 0.5 mL barrel runs to 50 units. The reconstitution calculator returns a volume in both, so you can draw straight off the number it gives you.
Single use, sealed interior — the pack is what is sealed, not each syringe. Wipe the vial stopper with an alcohol swab before drawing, keep the needle sheathed until the moment of use, and do not re-sheath a used needle by hand.
Used syringes are sharps waste. Put them straight into a rigid sharps container and dispose of it through your local clinical-waste route — never in household waste or a recycling stream.
