The two named components belong to different peptide families. Tesamorelin is a modified growth-hormone-releasing-hormone analogue; ipamorelin is the synthetic five-residue secretagogue described by Raun and colleagues. Their separate mechanisms do not by themselves establish synergy, equivalence to either single compound, or the stability of a combined preparation.
The tesamorelin trial enrolled 412 people with HIV and abdominal-fat accumulation and followed its study formulation for 26 weeks. The ipamorelin paper used cell and animal systems. Neither experiment tested this single vial containing tesamorelin 12 mg plus ipamorelin 6 mg. The 18 mg total is a composition statement, not a tested combined clinical regimen.
